谢林汉姆说：“我同意C罗说的话，因为他就是从一个瘦弱的、爱玩花活的边锋变成了一名顶级得分手。我不认为C罗是中锋球员，因此他的进球数就显得更加惊人了。或者说C罗不是那种传统的中锋，他的进球方式多种多样，左脚、右脚、远射、抢点、定位球、头球等等。如果你在二十多年前说C罗可以取得这么多的进球，我会觉得你在开玩笑，因为那时他还是边锋。然后C罗意识到了自己可以进更多球，于是他调整了自己的比赛方式。
“我觉得姆巴佩也不是一名纯中锋，他和欧文、福勒这样的球员都不一样，姆巴佩喜欢从左边路内切，这更像亨利的踢法。所以，我认为C罗确实可以教姆巴佩一些东西，不过我觉得C罗不会像我当年一样，为了钱去西汉姆当前锋教练，他会更愿意在曼联教年轻人几招。”
